Editable AI prompts with plan-specific tuning
Admins can now tune SearchTriage AI prompts for site scans, reports, briefs, and drafts, with version history and plan-aware overrides.
SearchTriage now has an admin-controlled prompt system for the AI tasks that support site scans, reports, briefs, and drafts.
This is important because SEO judgment is not one-size-fits-all. A Free Sample account should not receive the same depth as an Agency Plus account managing many client sites. A Starter brief should be directional and lightweight. A Builder report should be weekly and practical. An Agency report should be client-ready.
The prompt system gives SearchTriage room to tune those differences.
What can be edited
Admin prompts are available for the core AI tasks:
- site profile scans
- report summaries
- brief generation
- draft generation
Each task has a global default prompt and can have plan-specific overrides. That means the same feature can stay consistent while becoming more appropriate for different account levels.
Version history protects experimentation
Prompt tuning should be encouraged, but not reckless. SearchTriage stores prompt versions so changes can be reviewed and restored.
That gives admins a safer way to improve the system over time. A better prompt for article briefs can be tested. A client-ready Agency tone can be refined. A site scan prompt can be adjusted to pay more attention to business context, page types, or SEO basics.
If a prompt experiment goes sideways, it can be rolled back.
Why plan-specific prompts matter
Feature access is different by plan, and the AI output should respect that.
For example, Free Sample should show the "this is what my GSC data means" moment without pretending to include full history or unlimited output. Starter should be direction-focused. Builder should deliver the main weekly workflow. Growth should support active publishing. Agency and Agency Plus should produce clearer client-ready explanations.
The prompt layer helps those differences show up in the actual work.
Better prompts, better decisions
SearchTriage uses AI as decision support, not as a ranking promise. Editable prompts make it easier to shape that support around practical SEO judgment: evidence, tradeoffs, internal links, updates, briefs, drafts, and queries that should be ignored.
